Frequently Asked Questions

GENERAL
1. Can I get my Email2nv mail forwarded to another account?

Yes, login to the User Information section and select "change forward".

Then enter the email address you want your mail forwarded to. You can enter multiple forward addresses by entering them one per line.

2. How can I stop SPAM from cluttering up my inbox?

Email2nv has an anti-virus, anti-spam filter which will automatically detect SPAM and send it to your Junk folder. If however you find that you are still receiving Spam in your inbox, the filter can be adjusted in the User Information section. Click on the "change settings" link under the "mail filtering" header. The default settings are 5 for moving to Junk and 10 to delete. Setting these to lower values will result in more spam being caught but makes it more likely that legitimate mail will be tagged. A setting of three is a safe level, we do not recommend you set the spam high (delete) lower than 5.

3. What does the mail filter actually filter?

The filter will detect viruses, phishing (scam) emails, spam (unsolicited email) and dangerous content from your email.

4. I've lost my password, how can I recover it?

You can recover your password via email by clicking here and filling in your details accordingly.

ACCOUNTING
5. How can I pay my Bill?

All billing is processed automatically, if you need to change credit cards please use the user info section to update your credit card details.

If you receive a bill showing a closing balance greater than $0. Your transaction has probably failed. You can use the remittance slip on the bottom of your Bill and pay by cheque or money order.

6. Help, I have email2nv PRO but can't send email using your servers.

The most common reason for this is that your ISP has blocked access to port 25 for everything but local traffic.

To get around this it is possible to change the outgoing server port to 2525 or 587 or use their server to send mail.

Read the setup page for instructions specific to your mail client.

TROUBLESHOOTING
7. When I try to connect using Outlook it is rejecting my username and password.

Make sure that you are entering you full email address as your email.

If you are using webmail, clear your internet cache and restart your web browser.

8. I have a PRO account and can't get my mail in Outlook Express, the error is 0x800CCCOD or 0x800CCCOD.

Can you get webpages? If so you may have the wrong mailserver typed in your account. Try using mail.email2nv.com if unsure.

If you cannot get webpages please call your ISP for assistance.

9. I have a PRO account and can't get my mail in Outlook Express, the error is 0x800CCC19 or server timeout.

This error is usually caused by a problem or mis-configuration of your anti-virus software or an email that is too large for Outlook to handle.

First try logging into your account using webmail to check if you have any excessively large emails in your inbox and delete them once read.

Otherwise try turning off virus scanning or other security related programs on your PC. Most of the time switching them off then on or re-installing them will fix these types of problems.

10. I can connect using Outlook but keep getting dropped off or I get an error 0x800CCC0F.

In Outlook go to "tools" then "options". Click on the "Connections" tab and make sure hang up after sending and receiving is unticked.

Also go to "Tools" then "Accounts". Double click on your email2nv account, then select the "Connections" tab and untick the check box.
